The History of the Sanatorium
The Tashkent Mineral Waters sanatorium has a 70-year history. The resort was established in 1950 by a team of employees from the Semashko Uzbek Research Institute of Physiotherapy and Culturology, who carried out extensive work to create the first drinking and balneological resort in Uzbekistan — Tashkent Mineral Waters. For the first time in the history of Central Asia, the population gained the opportunity to treat diseases of the digestive system, the musculoskeletal system, as well as diseases and the consequences of injuries of the peripheral nervous system at a local resort.
The sanatorium has a unique geographical location, situated on the border of two zones: on the one hand, it adjoins the rich oasis of Tashkent, and on the other, the semi-desert belt of southern Kazakhstan. This makes it possible to use climatic contrasts for more effective treatment at the sanatorium.
